The ski from Kalvträsk

One year before of the birth of my father an old ski was found in an area close to town.

Two years later a second ski was found a few hundred meters from the location of the first ski. There was no doubt the skis were a matching pair.

In time the two skis were given to the regional museum.

Subsequent analysis revealed that the skis were made 3200 BC (over 5000 years ago), making each of them the oldest ski ever found - worldwide.

This pair of ski is older than the pyramids of Egypt.

Since they are dated to well before the earliest known writing (related to the Swedish landmass) they are classified as pre-historic, thus not really Swedish - if that matters at all.
